Portal Project Management
For SICG to have the depth of experience, you'd expect us to have installed it a few times. Well, we have - to date, we have implemented over 100 commercial portals using SharePoint since the BETA version was deployed in 2002. Our roles have varied from simple Advisory Services to hands on Project Management from design to deployment.
As seasoned Project Managers, we've nothing short of a remarkable track record in terms of deployment time and end result. Some notables:
- United Pan-Europe Communications - In addition to managing the roll out of iDTV (interactive digital television) throughout Europe, SICG also co-managed the complete rebuilding of the communications giant network (AORTA). A massive project covering interaction with 32 countries in a dozen languages, SICG integrated SharePoint as both an internal project tracking site (integrating Project Server), but also as a public relations tool that informed the general public as to the state of the several hundred projects. The PR (and the Portal), suggested by SICG, helped save UPC during re-organization.
- Reynolds American - Having recently finished merging with a former rival, Reynolds was stuck with a mostly static, mostly difficult to use intranet. At SICG's recommendation, they were convinced to move to a more dynamic direction with SharePoint Portal. In an astonishing 6 months, SICG managed, built and deployed a replacement intranet and at the same time, trained a Microsoft Gold Partner's entire staff (10 people) during the course of the project.
- Southern Company - This massive holding firm holds 15 different power divisions. SICG was there to help guide them through the initial process of deployment, worked directly with their users to understand content, organization and security and provided the entire company with a repeatable, dependable process for rollout company-wide.
